I'm so sorry...

I finally got my photos all cropped, ready to go, and was just about to start doing some posting when Matt came home from school today with very bad news. The eight year old brother of one of the boys in my Outdoor Ed group was hit by a car and killed on Saturday. Joey (the brother) and two other boys Matt goes to school with witnessed the accident. The world has stopped turning, for the moment for us, for them...who knows. So sorry to do this but I felt the need to share. Please keep Joey, The Anastasi family and friends, and the other children effected by this in your thoughts and prayers. He was Vincent, Vinny, Anastasi and he's the one who is in the bossom of his Savior, happier than any of us can imagine. We, however, are trying to catch our breath. Might I suggest listening to When The Saints Go Marchin' In, Superman, and This Too Shall Pass?

ooohhh. It seems like there is something like this is everyone's childhood. Bringing it to a screaching halt. The day you have to grow up and face the sadness of this world.

I am so sorry for Matt, for you, for the family. But.......it makes "living" this life that much more important. That's our job here.

I love you.....and anxiously await a new post when you're up to it.

xoxo, Julia

Oh Stephanie,

There aren't words, are there? A parent's worst fear come true. We didn't know the family but in our big small world the daughter of one of the ER pediatrician's to be on call for Vincent is in my class. She said her mother cried all day yesterday, of course. One of my coworker friends was a neighbor-her daughter is a few years older than Vincent but saw him not too much before the accident and the poor girl is, understandably, not coping well. We don't understand - how can they? How is Matt doing? Vincent, his family and the whole community are in my thoughts and prayers. None of us who have heard about it are unaffected. I love you and your great big heart! xo-Mellie
